Year 2010 was a good start for "canvas bag", a social project initiated by ViitorPlus - Association for Sustainable Development, which provides an environmentally friendly alternative to plastic bags. He reached in October one year of existence, the year increased many supporters gathered and tried to make their voice heard and ecological message.
The message is simple - plastic bags are extremely harmful to the environment and project initiators wanted to show that there are natural alternatives. Thus emerged "canvas bag", which is however more than a replacement for plastic bags. It is both an opportunity offered to people in difficulty, marginalized people with physical disabilities, who are offered a job and support the reintegration into the labor market. Tailoring Workshop is based on principles of environment-friendly operation, bags are made from local materials, natural (cotton certified organic, raw fabric, unfinished, printed with water based ink, recycled paper labels) and without waste. The project combines environmental as the social side, respecting the principles of sustainable development.
"Canvas bag" recently celebrated one year and three months of existence, and boasts a number of important achievements for a pilot project: 15,000 bags sold, which means 2.16 million plastic bags removed from the environment (if each bag replaces, while, at least three plastic bags), eight people in need helped, over 20,000 people affected by the messages and educational workshops conducted.
Also in 2010 two new models were launched, and her side benefit educational improvements and new approaches. The design of the bags is another special feature of the project, which promotes an environmentally friendly and responsible in an attractive and innovative.
Thus, the first year of existence of the "canvas bags" was full of success, but also testing and future plans are at least as large.

The project aims to grow in 2011 to more and overcome the previous year's results: it wants its expansion, increasing the number of bags sold and the number of people helped, launching new products, but also a strong educational campaign, which promote social and environmental message.
